The Volkswagen Polo R WRC is a World Rally Car built and operated by Volkswagen Motorsport and based on the Volkswagen Polo for use in the World Rally Championship. The car, which made its début at the start of the 2013 season, is built to the second generation of World Rally Car regulations that were introduced 2011, which are based upon the existing Super 2000 regulations, but powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine rather than the normally aspirated 2-litre engine found in Super 2000 cars.

The Polo R WRC marks Volkswagen’s second entry into the World Rally Championship as a manufacturer. Volkswagen Motorsport had previously entered the Volkswagen Golf GTI and GTI 16V in rallies between 1983 and 1988, while the company also made the Volkswagen Golf Mk3 and Mk4 available as a kit car to privateer entries during the Group A era from 1993 to 1997.

The car was extremely successful from its début, winning forty-three of the fifty-three rallies that it entered, and scoring thirty-seven more podiums. Sébastien Ogier won four consecutive FIA World Rally Championships for Drivers between 2013 and 2016, whilst Volkswagen Motorsport secured the FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers in all four years. The Polo R WRC was retired from competition at the end of the 2016 season when Volkswagen withdrew from the sport entirely.

At the 2006 Geneva Motor Show Peugeot also unveiled a sporty concept car based on the 207 and badged as the 207 RCup. This Super 2000 version is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine with maximum output of 280 hp (209 kW) and is intended as a successor for the 206 World Rally Car which was successfully used by Peugeot in the World Rally Championship, where it helped the team winning the manufacturers’ championship in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

The Peugeot 207 Epure was a concept car presented at the Mondial de l’Automobile 2006 designed to preview the 207 CC which followed. The 207 Epure was fitted with a sophisticated hydrogen fuel cell.

The Peugeot 207 was a supermini produced by the French automaker Peugeot from 2006 to 2014. It was unveiled in January 2006, and launched in April 2006. The 207 was replaced by the Peugeot 208 in 2012.

The 207 was launched in France, Spain and Italy during April 2006, and later on in other European, and Arab markets.
The United Kingdom launch was on 8 June 2006. Amicus and the TGWU, both unions representing workers at PSA’s manufacturing plant in Ryton, Coventry, chose the same day to launch a campaign calling for the boycott of PSA’s Peugeot and Citroën vehicles in the United Kingdom. The campaign was in protest against the company’s plans to close the Ryton plant.
In January 2004, Peugeot decided not to manufacture the 207 in Ryton. Peugeot’s United Kingdom sales grew, despite the resulting boycott.
