Red Velvet Cake Recipe Demonstration
|
Recipe here: www.joyofbaking.com/RedVelvetCake.html Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make a Red Velvet Cake. A Red Velvet Cake is very dramatic looking with its bright red color that is offset by a creamy white frosting. If we look beyond the striking appearance of this cake, we will find that it has a mild chocolate flavor with a moist and tender crumb. The mild chocolate flavor comes from adding a small amount of cocoa powder to the batter and buttermilk gives it a moist and tender crumb.

Yours is my ever favorite red velvet, Stephanie! thank you, always. But now I am considering stacking it and/or covering it with fondant. Do you think it holds up well?

Hi, is 'distilled white vinegar' the same as 'distilled malt vinegar'? I'm in the UK and I can only seem to find the latter. If they're not the same, what can I use to substitute for the distilled white vinegar? Thank you so much, want to make this for my husband's bday :)
