Beef Mechado can be considered as a weekend food or even a food served during special occasions. It is best eaten with steamed white rice. The secret in making a successful mechado has something to do with the balance of flavor of the sauce and the tenderness of the beef. Beef cuts such as sirloin and tenderloin will help you cook this dish faster because these are already tender, but using chuck and other slices might entail a longer time to tenderize the meat.
